Hold the Seminar on the Application of New Geophysical Technologies and Methods in Yunnan Province

In order to further enhance the application effect and research level of electromagnetic geophysical exploration technology in Yunnan Province, and in light of the topographic features of Yunnan Province, Hengda Century(Beijing) Geophysics Technology Co., Ltd. and the Yunnan Geophysical Society jointly hold the Seminar on the Application of New Geophysical Technologies and Methods in Yunnan Province. The seminar was held at the Lotus Hotel in Kunming City on July 25, 2014. More than 20 organizations participated, including the Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, the Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Nonferrous Geology, Kunming University of Science and Technology, the Yunnan Provincial Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources Exploration, the Yunnan Provincial Geological Survey Institute, the China Nonferrous Metals Kunming Survey and Design Institute, Yunnan Gold Mining Group, and the Southwest Nonferrous Metals Kunming Survey and Design Institute. Nearly a hundred representatives attended the seminar.

This conference specially invited Zou Guangyu, Vice President of the Yunnan Geophysical Society (Captain of the Yunnan Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration Team), Zhang Kai, Director of the Key Laboratory of Electrical Method of Anhui Exploration Technology Institute, Li Lihui, Professor-level senior Engineer of the Yunnan Geological Survey Bureau, Qiang Jianke, a teacher from Central South University, and PhD Ruan Shuai, Technical Director of Hengda Century, to give special reports. This paper introduces the topographic characteristics of Yunnan and the current development status of geophysical exploration, common geophysical methods and problems in Yunnan Province, the development of geophysical exploration instruments, application cases of various geophysical exploration methods in geological exploration, and the application of AMT method in mineral exploration.

At the meeting, the representatives attending the conference actively engaged in academic exchanges and discussions with the invited experts. The participants expressed that through the communication at this symposium, the geophysical exploration technicians in Yunnan have gained a better understanding of the technical features of instruments such as the V8 multi-functional electrical method instrument and the VIP high-power excitation instrument. At the same time, they have learned the usage methods of these instruments in the special terrain of Yunnan region. And gave affirmation to the technical support, maintenance and after-sales service of Hengda Century.
