MTU -5C ultra-wideband MT(UMT)system Enters China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)

The School of Geophysics and Spatial Information of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) purchased nine sets of MTU 5C.Recently, Hengda Century (Beijing) Geophysics Co., Ltd. completed the equipment delivery, training and acceptance.

A three-day equipment acceptance and training was carried out at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). Our company's senior technical engineers introduced the basic principles, equipment composition, operation precautions and software introduction, and gave detailed answers to the questions raised by teachers and students. In the suburbs of Wuhan City, field equipment tests and training were conducted on 9 sets of MTU-5C. Engineers demonstrated the operation of software and hardware and invited everyone to operate them in practice. Through hands-on operation, they gained an in-depth understanding of the actual usage methods of the equipment. The equipment acceptance includes: power-on test of the equipment, calibration of the instruments and magnetic sensors, consistency test, etc. All indicators meet the contract requirements, the system operates well, and the acceptance work is successfully completed.

The MTU-5C ultra-wideband MT system supports four frequency band data observation methods: Magnetotelluric  (MT), audio Magnetotelluric  (AMT), wideband Magnetotelluric  (BMT), and long-period Magnetotelluric (LMT). It can not only improve the dead frequency band data quality of MT and AMT, but also Moreover, it can automatically identify the probe type to simplify data processing operations. The MTU-5C ultra-wideband magnetotelluric system supports two acquisition methods: continuous acquisition and intermittent acquisition. Moreover, when the system is collecting audio magnetotelluric (AMT) data, the acquisition method is 150 times that of the traditional magnetotelluric system. Meanwhile, the advantages of the MTU 5C , such as light weight, low power consumption, IP-68 waterproof rating, and an overall aluminum alloy shell, provide our equipment with strong battery life and super protection functions.
