V8 Multi-function Electric Instrument Training Seminar

The "Geophysical Prospecting V8 Multi-function Electric Instrument Training Seminar", hosted by Hengda Century (Beijing) Geophysics Technology Co., Ltd. on February 21, 2014, was held at the Education Center of Jiangxi Geology and Minerals Bureau, and the meeting reached the expectations and was successfully concluded.

The participating units included Jiangxi Geology and Minerals Bureau, Geophysical and Geochemical Prospecting Section, Geological Survey Institute, Sections of Jiangxi Northwest, Jiangxi Northeast, Jiangxi North, Jiangxi West, and Middle Jiangxi, Team 902, Team 912, Team 916, Team 915, Jiangdi Company, Hydrological Team, and 20 others sent representatives to attend the meeting, which were over 100 people in total

Based on the actual situation of geological teams in Jiangxi Province, the invited experts made technical exchanges and guidance for various geological units of the bureau, with the aim of strengthening the geophysical technology and the application of V8 of geological prospecting teams in Jiangxi Province. In addition, relevant well-known experts were also invited to make meeting reports. The team of experts attending the meeting included: Development and Research Center of China Geological Survey - Liu Shiyi; School of Earth and Space Sciences, East China University of Technology - Deng Juzhi; School of Earth and Space Sciences, Yangtze University - Xie Xingbing; former Chief Engineer of Team 902, Jiangxi Geology and Minerals Bureau; Technical Director of Hengda Century - Ruan Shuai.

In the morning, Mr Liu Shiyi shared with the participants "the application of geophysical prospecting methods in mineral exploration", and explained the views, experiences and problems discovered in terms of geophysical prospecting mineral exploration achievements and progress in geophysical prospecting technologies. Dean Deng Juzhi made a report on "Deep Mineral Exploration by Geo-electromagnetic Method" at the conference, gaving a comprehensive explanation on the common problems of electrical sounding in the frequency domain, the application examples of deep mineral exploration, and the problems that need to be attentioned in deep mineral exploration.

In the afternoon, Mr. Xie Xingbing, made a report on "V8 System and Field Exploration Practice" at the conference, explaining in detail the characteristics of V8 system and the application analysis of V8 system, AMT and SIP methods. According to the specific situation of geophysical exploration in Jiangxi province, Zhang Husheng, former Chief Engineer of Team 902, elaborated on some cases done by V8 by using CSAMT method, and expanded to some specific experiences to share with other participants and received general acclaim. Liu Guoqing made a technical report on "Application of UAV Aeromagnetic Technology", focusing on the current development, technical characteristics and application examples of low altitude UAV aeronautics. At last, Dr. Ruan Shuai, Technical Director of Hengda Century, made a detailed report on the "Interpretation of Fine Inversion of Minerals Electromagnetic Method" to the participants. One focus of the report is to figure out how the CSAMT method widely used in the geophysical field can be reasonably applied in mineral exploration to avoid the problem of near-field effect, and the other one is about the two-dimensional MT_AMT inversion of complex terrains.

The conference was supported by the leadership of the Jiangxi Geology and Minerals Bureau and was assisted by the geological personnel in Jiangxi Geology and Minerals Bureau.
