ICEEG 2026 – International Conference on Environmental and Engineering Geophysics

The 12th International Conference on Environmental and Engineering Geophysics (ICEEG 2026) was successfully held in Wuhan from June 12 to 14. The conference was jointly organized by the Near-Surface Geophysics Committee of the Chinese Geophysical Society and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), and hosted by the School of Geophysics and Geomatics at CUG (Wuhan), the Hubei Key Laboratory of Subsurface Multi-Scale Imaging, and the Innovation and Talent Introduction Base for Deep Earth Resource Exploration. Under the theme "Green and Intelligent Near-Surface Detection," the conference brought together 482 experts and scholars from countries and regions including China, the United States, France, Canada, Denmark, Switzerland, Turkey, Brazil, Pakistan, as well as Hong Kong (China), Macau (China), and Taiwan (China).

Ms. Catherine Truffert, CEO of IRIS Instruments (France), delivered a keynote presentation titled "Innovation in Infrastructure Inspection – New Advances in Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT)." The presentation introduced cutting-edge technological achievements in ERT and next-generation intelligent detection equipment, with a focus on the pioneering multi-transmitter, multi-receiver measurement mode. The presentation highlighted the system's applications in highway subgrade detection, riverbed surveying, and pile foundation inspection for cross-river bridges. Notably, highway inspections can be carried out without interrupting traffic; for river surveys, distributed deployment on both banks eliminates the need for cables crossing the water. Compared with traditional equipment, this system offers greater operational convenience, higher detection efficiency, stronger signal transmission, avoids offshore construction risks, and demonstrates strong field practicality.

Hengda Century set up a booth at the conference and engaged in in-depth exchanges with representatives from domestic universities, research institutes, and enterprises on instrumentation and equipment for environmental and engineering geophysics.
